Volunteer

Your contribution as a volunteer is what enables Habitat for Humanity Camrose to operate and fulfill its mission.  Using volunteer labour and donations of money and materials, we build simple, affordable homes and then sell them to partner families for no profit and with a no-interest mortgage.

There are a number of ways to get involved:

Habitat ReStore

The ReStore is the principle fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity Camrose.  The store accepts donations of new and used building material, furniture, appliances, and more.  These are then sold to the public and the profits are used to fund the work of Habitat for Humanity Camrose. The ReStore is located at 5007 - 46 Street, and is open Tuesday - Saturday from 10 am - 5 pm.

Board of Directors

Develops and authorizes the programs and policies of the affiliate.  The board operates under a set of bylaws, which provide the administrative guidelines for all functions of Habitat for Humanity Camrose.

ReStore Committee

Assists with the overall plan and operation of the ReStore.

Building/Site Selection Committee

Oversees the acquisition of land and materials as well as the design and construction of the Habitat homes.

Family Selection and Partnering Committee

Recruits families for partnership, evaluates applications, and recommends qualifying families to the Board.  Works with families through the building process and into home ownership.

Faith Relations Committee

Works with the faith community to spread the message of Habitat and seek out volunteers and supporters.  Organizes the home dedications.

Fund Development Committee

Develops opportunities for fundraising, including working with corporations, service clubs and individuals to raise money for the home building program.

SHE Committee (Safety, Health and Environment)

Develops and supervises the implementation of Habitat's SHE policy and program.
